Effective date: 24 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Intek Host, operated by Intek Multimedia in Ghana, collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit our website, create an account, place an order or use our services.

1. Information we collect

We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, organisation, email address, phone number, billing details, domain-registration information, support messages and service preferences. We also collect limited technical information such as browser type, device type, pages visited, referral source, approximate location and security logs.

We do not intentionally ask you to submit passwords, one-time codes, API keys or full payment-card details through public forms. Payment providers process payment information under their own terms and privacy notices.

2. Why we use personal information

We use personal information to:

  • create and secure customer accounts;
  • process orders, invoices, renewals and service requests;
  • register, transfer and manage domains using the details required by registries and registrars;
  • provide hosting, email, technical support and service notices;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorised access and security incidents;
  • improve website performance, content and customer experience;
  • comply with legal, tax, regulatory and contractual obligations; and
  • send marketing messages where permitted and provide an appropriate opt-out.

We process personal information only for stated and legitimate purposes, using a lawful basis appropriate to the activity. Depending on the situation, this may include performing a contract, taking steps requested before a contract, complying with a legal obligation, protecting legitimate business and security interests, or relying on consent.

4. Service providers and disclosures

We may share limited information with infrastructure providers, domain registries and registrars, payment processors, email and SMS providers, professional advisers, fraud-prevention services and authorities where reasonably necessary. These parties may process information in Ghana or other countries. We do not sell personal information to advertisers.

Domain-registration data may be disclosed or published where required by the selected registry, registrar, dispute process or applicable law. Domain privacy availability varies by extension.

5. Data retention

We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose collected, account administration, legal compliance, tax and accounting records, security, dispute resolution and enforcement of agreements. Retention periods vary by record type. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before normal deletion or rotation.

6. Security

We use administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information, including access controls, secure sessions, activity logging, encryption where appropriate and service monitoring. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or request deletion where retention is no longer required. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You may also unsubscribe from non-essential marketing messages. Service, billing, security and legal notices may still be sent when necessary.

8. Cookies and analytics

The website uses essential cookies for security, sessions and preferences. It may also use first-party analytics to understand page visits and interactions. See the Cookie Policy for more information and available controls.

9. Children

Our commercial hosting services are intended for people who can lawfully enter into the relevant service agreement. A parent, guardian or authorised organisation should manage an account where required by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when services, legal requirements or business practices change. The current version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
